"Peace and Conflict. Near and Middle East – A European Perspective."

Modules

The 2010 Summer University will approach the topic from the perspective of

- political science,

- sociology,

- history,

- cultural and regional studies

 

In the process, the following topics will play a role:

- the Near and Middle East from a European and German Perspective

- the European Union’s relationship with the Near and Middle East Region, including the Mediterranean policy of the EU

- domestic policy questions such as Islamic political parties, migration, racism and terrorism

German language Courses

Offered at 3 different levels (including beginners)

Credits

Participants can earn university credits under the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

Students, postgraduates from the above mentioned fields of study

Cultural Program

Weekend trips, visits to museums and concerts, lectures by guest speakers from the fields of sciences, politics, economics and culture, opening and closing reception

Accommodation

Single rooms in student dormitories (included in standard programme fee)

Costs

Course fee: 980,– Euro (Two seminars and a general German language course, instruction materials)

Accommodations, food allowance, extracurricular program: 920,– Euro
