Who We Are

Engineers Without Borders-USA is a non-profit humanitarian organization which supports community-driven development programs worldwide by collaborating with local partners to design and implement sustainable engineering projects, while creating transformative experiences and responsible leaders. Our vision is a world in which the communities we serve have the capacity to sustainably meet their basic human needs, and that our members have enriched global perspectives through the innovative professional educational opportunities.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville chapter of EWB-USA was founded in 2007 by Jerome Flogel and Joe Elsinger. The group was and still is overseen by Dr. Samuel Owusu-Ababio who served the adviser, in-country guide and general resource.  The group has worked in the same geographic area which is located 25 miles north-west of the capital city of Accra.
